“There’s no better way to overpower a trickle of doubt than with a flood of naked truth”
This is one of the topic of great debate that has been on the corridors of political and religious altar for over a century now. Many has tacked the believe of men been head of the home as that emanating from a patriarchal society, where men assumes power and control over the female folks.
As human evolves and with their unproven assumption of being wiser, they tend to redefine certain notion in our contemporary world.
Deep and sensitive issues that touches on religion is hard to redefine especially when such notion had been stated in a “holy book” and any attempt to redefine it, is seen as a deviate from the true faith.
The holy book is seen as a book of hope and liberty. Many believes that in that hope and liberty certain restrains are set to encourage orderliness and more so to settle us in our various callings and ordinations.
For us to handle this question we must first and foremost understand who is a man? and who is a woman? and the purpose for which they were created in the beginning of time.
WHO THEN IS A MAN?
Lets visit the book of Genesis, a book of the Christian faith that gives an account of the beginning and the restoration of things that were.
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. ”Gen 1:27.
The creation here refers to the personality of this created being called man. It suggest that male and female were created together in one being called man. The man is the life carrier, he carries the seed (X and Y chromosomes) of humankind. Most remarkably is that both male and female in man were given same assignment in the created realm.
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth” Gen 1:28.
After God created the man (male and female) then he formed the man (making the spiritual man inhabit a physical body).
“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” Gen 2:7
Now God formed the man first and put him in Eden and he was called Adam (the first man in God’s image and likeness). Adam had dominion, subdued the earth and replenished it. In the journey of time, God said it is not good for the man to be alone.
WHO THEN IS A WOMAN?
Then the bible recorded that Adam was in the garden the other day and after God had watched him perform and deliver with superior abilities and with extraordinary skills and acquisitions yet he was alone. Adam woke up from his sleep and saw a being without a name, for he had named all creatures except this one.
“And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field..” Gen 2:20 but for Adam there was not found a help meet for him” Gen 2:20 b.
Adam concluded and these were his words “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man” Gen 2:23.
I intend not to talk about the clause “she was taken out of Man“ .
Question: How would have Adam procreated if the woman was not taken out of him?.
Question: Is this rib the same we studied in biology? What was this Rib?.
A woman is by this revelation, that which came out of a man. A woman is a feminine expression of humankind .
A woman is defined by her genetic(XX) makeup, her intellectual and characteristic tendencies and in nearly all cases with the presence of a womb when born.
While the above analogy is based on my interpretation derived from christian belief, my personally believe that a woman is by no standard less than a man and infact all human are born equal.
